Working with tabs in Microsoft Word.

1. Tabs allow you to create text columns and build a table. Set the tab then press the TAB key on the keyboard. The cursor jumps to the rigth place. There are four types of tabs: left, right, center and decimal.

Measure tabs from the edge of the margin.

 

2. Setting tabs -all about the rulers are the top of your document.

To set a tab click ONCE on the ruler to set the tab.

Can't see your ruler? Click on View and choose Print Layout from the MS Word menu.

3. To erase a tab, click on the tab symbol on the ruler and drag STRAIGHT DOWN.

4. To view tabs and other hidden codes in MS Word, click on the button.

These hidden codes can help you to check on the proper number of BLANK LINES as indicated in the block letter format.

When working with tabs make sure that there is only ONE tab (shown as an arrow) between columns. If you have more than ONE arrow delete it to even the columns.
