Word processing exercise

1. Set the margins of your Word document to 2 inches top margin, 1.5 inches bottom, .5 inches left and right margins.
2. Type your name and date at the top of the page.
3. Recreate the table below using tabs. Size the table so that the left and right borders are 1/2 inch within the margins. Left justify, or use left tabs, for columns containing text. Right justify, or use right tabs, for columns containing numbers. Make sure that the lines of the table do not word wrap.
4. Use bold, underlining and all caps for the table headings "DAY", "CAUSE" and "TIME". Use italics for each word in the DAY column. Your table will appear differently in its final format.

DAY CAUSE TIME
Monday dog barked 2:00 am
Tuesday loud birds 5:15 am
Wednesday car alarm 3:30 am

Do not copy and paste the table into your document..

5. Save this picture to your I drive.

6. Copy and paste this text into your document below the table:
Most dogs are curious about babies, especially if the dog has had little or no exposure to infants or a long time has elapsed since it has seen a baby. If you have seen your dog react to other babies, either in your home, on the street, or in other people's homes, be aware of your dog's typical reactions and take whatever precautions necessary. Most dogs adapt quickly and easily to the presence of a new baby. However, since the consequences can be so serious, assume that your dog will react negatively and take every safety precaution possible, regardless how your dog has reacted in previous encounters with babies.

7. Insert the picture that you just saved justified with the left margin (against the left margin). Text wrap the image using the Tight setting. This will move the paragraph to the right. Do not resize the image.

8. Save this pictures to your I drive.

9. Insert the picture of the dog and baby into the header of the document. Do not re-size the image.

10. Change the all text, including the table, in your document to Courier 12 point font.

11. When you are done with the document print it out and hand it in to me. Save your work.

PART 2
