Speak Your Mind
The goal of this exercise is to write a properly formatted business letter. It will center on an issue of importance to you. Your words will represent you.
SAVE FOR PORTFOLIO

Part 1 (15 points): Think of an issue that concerns you.

Global warming? Not enough parking? Standardized testing? Skateboarder's rights? Trails closed to mountain bikes? School starts too early? Lunch isn't long enough?
YOU choose.

1. Using the Internet, research your issue to learn about both sides of your issue (example: graffiti is an art form vs. grafitti defaces public and private property).
2. Locate a name and address for an individual directly involved in your issue- think Mayor, Governor, Police Chief, President, etc. You will address your letter to this person.
3. Summarize each side of the issue in one to three sentences
and include the name and address of the person you will write to. Print out the your summaries and hand in to me. Then move on to part 2 and write your letter.

Use your own words in your summary-copy and paste will result in loss of credit.
