Your First Video
Your missions to create a video using Windows Movie Maker. Before I get to the subject of your video here are the requirements for your video:
TOPIC: Your favorite person/place/thing/activity. This gives you a great deal of freedom. Create a compilation of music videos, best surfing clips, Presidential speeches. Remember - keep it school friendly. Excessive violence or other inappropriate content will earn a zero.
VIDEO SOURCE: You will use online video. Remember, you cannot use video found on Google Video, YouTube or Yahoo video. Here are some sources to get you started:
http://mciu.org/~spjvweb/video.html
www.altavista.com/video - uncheck Quicktime, Real, Flash and Other
http://www.archive.org/details/movies
WIndows Movie Maker will only accept videos that play in Media Player. These are usually files ending in .asf, .avi, .wmv, MPEG1, .mpeg, .mpg, .m1v, .mp2.
START by searching for videos and saving them to your I drive.
EDITING - copy the files to the computer's hard drive to edit them. Make sure to go to File, Save Project As while you are working. Save the project file to your I drive NOT the computer's hard drive.
