Olympic Triathlon
1. Find file labeled olympictri.xls in the M drive, _student
folder, Intro to Computers folder. Open the file in Excel.
2. Hide column D. Delete
column F. Click
here for help.
3. Insert three blank rows at the top of the spreadsheet.
4. Type your name and the date in cell A1.
5. Type "Olympic Triathlon" in cell A2.
6. In row 3 label columns A through F in this order: RANK, FIRST, LAST, COUNTRY,
WINNINGS. Use uppercase and bold for the column titles.
7. Sort the spreadsheet using the RANK column in ascending order. Click here
for help.

Delete the rows containing athletes who have a dot (.) in the RANK column
next to their names.
9. Change the spreadsheet font type and size to Arial 12.
10.
Change the format of all the numbers in the WINNINGS column to currency with
two decimal places.
11. Adjust the column widths to fit the column headings-make sure that
no data is cut off and that all words are visible.
12. Print the spreadsheet in portrait orientation with the following settings:
-show gridlines.
-show
row and column heading.
NOW make a clustered column
chart that shows last names and winnings only (HINT- use the CTRL (control)
key to select columns).
>the title should be "Triathlete Earning (your name).
>enter "athlete" (without the quotation marks) on the X axis of your chart
>enter "earnings in dollars" (without the quotation marks) on the Y axis
of your chart
>make the chart on a new sheet and print your chart.
14. Save your Excel file as olympics part 1.
