Civil War Roll Call
There were numerous personalities on both sides of the conflict during
the Civil War. In order to gain a better understanding of those involved
you will create a short biography on a select group of Civil War figures.
You may work with a partner. You must write in your own words. Choose five names from the list below. Write in your own words - copying
and pasting will result in a zero.
For each person you choose from the list below provide the following information:
- their affiliation - North or South
- their role in the Civil War - be specific ("he was a general" is
not sufficient).
- what happened to them after the war ended?
- A photo of the individual.
- the source of your photo and information (listing the web addresses
is sufficient).
Arrange the photo and text
in Microsoft Word following this example. Create one Word document
per biography.

Antonia Ford (1838-1871) served as a spy for the Confederates.
She used her childhood knowledge of the Fairfax (Virginia) Courthouse
region
to
assist in the planning of a raid on the building. Ford also provided
intelligence to General Stuart prior to the Second Battle of Manassas/Bull
Run.
After the war she married Joseph Willard of the Washington, DC
Willard Hotel.
